How to spot a BloxStrike scam (and what we do differently)

bloxstrike scam

The CS:GO skin economy has been a phishing target for over a decade. Now that BloxStrike is generating real-money cosmetic value, the same scam playbook is migrating over. Most of these scams don’t happen on legitimate marketplaces — they happen in Roblox DMs, fake Discord servers, and screenshot-edited “trust trader” profiles. Here are the patterns and how to recognize them.

Pattern 1 — “Send first” trade boost

The scam: Someone DMs you in Roblox or Discord offering to “boost the value” of your inventory by trading. They say they’ll send first, you send back, the trade is reversed (it was a fake-out). Your items are gone.

Spot it:

  • They contact you out of nowhere.
  • They offer something that’s “too good” — 2× value, free skins, “boost trade.”
  • They’re rushing you to confirm before “the trade window closes.”
  • They claim there’s a “third-party trade verification” service. Not a thing.

What we do differently: You never trade items directly with another user on bloxstrike.net. The marketplace flow is: you pay, we hold escrow, the vendor sends through their verified alt, you confirm, escrow releases. There is no peer-to-peer trade flow on this site where you “send first.” (The vendor sends first, in BloxStrike, after we’ve held your funds.)

Pattern 2 — Cookie / .ROBLOSECURITY phishing

The scam: Someone — often impersonating a “support agent” or “bloxstrike.net moderator” — DMs you on Roblox or Discord asking you to “verify your account” by sending them your Roblox cookie or .ROBLOSECURITY token. They take the cookie, log into your Roblox account, drain your inventory.

Spot it:

  • ANYONE asking for your Roblox cookie is trying to steal your account. Period.
  • “Support” agents on legitimate platforms never ask for your cookie. They don’t need it. They have access through the platform’s own auth system.
  • If they have a verified-looking badge, check the username carefully — bloxstrike-support-staff is not the same as a real moderator handle.

What we do differently: We use Roblox OAuth. You log in on Roblox’s official sign-in page. We get your Roblox username + ID. We never ask for your password, your cookie, or your 2FA code. If someone claiming to be from bloxstrike.net asks for any of those — they’re not us.

Pattern 3 — Typo-domain phishing

The scam: A typo-domain (bloxstrike.gg, bloxstrike-net.com, bloxstrike-credits.shop) clones our UI exactly, harvests Roblox cookies via a fake “Sign in with Roblox” button. The button links to a malicious page styled like Roblox’s OAuth screen but actually a credential-harvester.

Spot it:

  • Always verify the URL bar says bloxstrike.net (or look8s0848g0sswkkkwosokk.51.81.220.188.sslip.io while we’re pre-DNS).
  • Real Roblox OAuth always starts on roblox.com or apis.roblox.com. If clicking “Sign in with Roblox” lands you anywhere else, close the tab immediately.
  • Browser SmartScreen, uBlock Origin, and Pi-hole users get phishing-domain warnings on most known clones.

What we do differently: We post known-bad-actor domains in the Discord as we identify them. We work with Cloudflare to take down impersonator sites when we can. If you found us via a search engine and aren’t 100% sure of the domain, navigate from sniperduels.shop’s footer or /about page link — those routes are owned by the same operator and impossible to typo-jack.

Pattern 4 — Fake Discord server / fake support

The scam: Someone makes a Discord server called “bloxstrike credits shop” or “bloxstrike trades official” and seeds it with fake reviews and a “support ticket” channel. When you open a ticket, the “support staff” asks for sensitive info or runs you through a phishing flow.

Spot it:

  • The real Discord is linked from this site’s footer + nav (and from /about). If a Discord URL was DM’d to you by a stranger, treat it as suspect.
  • Real moderator handles on the bloxstrike.net Discord are listed in the server’s #staff channel.
  • Real support requests don’t ask for your password, cookie, OAuth token, or “verification code.”

What we do differently: The Discord linked from this site is the only official channel. Imitator servers get reported to Discord T&S regularly. If you suspect you’re in a fake server, leave and rejoin from this site’s footer link.

Pattern 5 — “Free Credits” / giveaway scam

The scam: A YouTuber, TikTok creator, or “official BloxStrike partner” runs a “free Credits giveaway” that requires you to:

  1. Sign up on a sketchy site (often a fake bloxstrike.net clone).
  2. Verify your Roblox account (= cookie phishing).
  3. Complete a “human verification” survey (revenue affiliate harvest).

Spot it:

  • BloxStrike doesn’t run giveaways through random YouTubers. Real promotions come from their official Roblox group.
  • “Human verification” surveys that promise in-game items are universally scams across every Roblox-adjacent property.
  • “Click here to claim 10,000 free Credits” is never a real offer.

What we do differently: We don’t do free-Credits giveaways. We do offer pre-launch Discord-only pricing on real Credits packs (legit price, just discounted because we’re bootstrapping the vendor pool), and that’s posted publicly in the Discord. No surveys, no “verify your account,” no offsite redirects.

What to do if you’ve been scammed

  1. Change your Roblox password immediately. Reset 2FA. Check your account login history (Roblox account settings shows recent IPs).
  2. Revoke any third-party app permissions in Roblox account settings.
  3. Report the scammer’s Roblox handle to Roblox support.
  4. Post in the bloxstrike.net Discord so we can warn other users and (if we can identify the scam infrastructure) work to take it down.
